Sitmae REACH Services BV is especially established to serve Non-European manufacturers and formulators of chemicals as their ‘Only Representative’ under REACH. We also provide REACH Services and consultancy to EU importers, manufacturers and industrial users of chemicals.

The company was set-up as an answer to the requests of several non-European chemicals producers who wished to be represented by Mr. Paul Verspoor, owner and Managing Director of the company.

Sitmae is a compact company and boasts a team of highly capable consultants with an in depth knowledge of REACH and all its hidden complications with ethanol, toxicology, cosmetics and household products.

Sitmae REACH Services has a long list of satisfied customers. For these we have, by mid 2011, pre-registered some six hundred different substances and successfully submitted nearly thirty registrations.

Paul Verspoor graduated in marine engineering and operations management. In his early career he was a Chief Engineer in submarines of the Royal Netherlands Navy. He later went to England, where he obtained his MBA degree. Back in the Netherlands he held various management positions in newspaper printing, general printing and book publishing, before setting up Sitmae Consultancy in the late eighties and Sitmae REACH Services in 2008.

Paul Verspoor has lobbied REACH on behalf of six different industrial associations since its earliest inception and has produced industry specific REACH guidance for these industries. He continues to work for them as their REACH watcher and lobbyist.

Mr. Verspoor has many years of practical REACH experience; not only as a lobbyist, but also as a member of several REACH registration consortia, as consultant and of course as ‘Only Representative’. He was the driving force behind EtOH-REACH, the consortium of four hundred companies registering Ethanol.

As a consultant, he specialises in European regulatory affairs, with a distinct preference for technically and legally complicated issues. He also lectures ‘Regulatory Affairs’ at the International Packaging Institute in Switzerland and is Secretary of ORO, the Only Representatives Organisation.

Jeff Kelsey started ChemSage Limited in 2006 after a career with BP working in Research and Development, Technical Services and Product Stewardship/Toxicology. He has over 30 years chemicals sector experience, including 15 years in BP Chemicals’ solvents and derivatives businesses and a long standing involvement with the surface coatings sector.

In the latter part of his career with BP, he worked in Regulatory Toxicology and compliance on substance notification and risk assessment of existing chemicals, authoring of MSDSs and dossier preparation for the OECD High Production Volume chemicals programme. He was extensively involved in BP’s early preparations for REACH including site auditing and developing management systems. Chemsage assisted a number of multi-national clients and consortia in all aspects of their preparations for the first 2010 registration deadline for REACH and was responsible for writing around 20 lead company dossiers.

Qualifications: MSc (distinction) – Applied Toxicology. BSc (1st class) – Applied Chemistry. Chartered Scientist. Fellow in the Technology of Surface Coatings.

Jennifer Verspoor graduated in Facility Management. She started her career at Nyenrode Business University. Over the years she has used her organisational skills to solve Facility challenges for companies in several industries, e.g. education services and media.

At Sitmae REACH Services, Jennifer Verspoor is responsible for operations. This includes tracking customer REACH obligations, pre-registration and registration of substances, article certification, and the development of the internal procedures.

Zoran Gavrić graduated in Bio-pharmaceutical sciences at Leiden University, concluding his study with a Master in molecular and cellular toxicology. He has several years of experience working for the Dutch government and competent authorities as a policy officer and expert advisor on occupational health & safety and worker exposure.

Zoran Gavrić also worked for a governmental agency for sustainability and innovation, SenterNovem (currently Agentschap NL), where he served as National Contact Point and advisor for Life Sciences and Health research within the EU 6th Framework Program for Research and Technological Development.

Before establishing as an independent consultant he worked several years for Sara Lee, as Manager Safety, Environment and Regulatory affairs. This included the responsible for the implementation of REACH, the safety evaluation of substances and regulatory compliance of Sara Lee’s household and body care products. He has participated in several industry associations on behalf of Sara Lee and has been involved in REACH implementation working groups at the industry sector level.

As independent regulatory toxicologist Zoran Gavrić specialises in European regulatory compliance of cosmetics, food supplements, novel foods, weight control and health products, household products and biocides.
